Editorial Policy and Content Standards

Content review

All presentations are reviewed by Sherri Douville and Mitch Parker, Co-Founders, Trustworthy Technology & Innovation Consortium (TTIC). Our editorial standards for conferences such as AIMed align with the Taylor & Francis Series Editor Ethics Statement and the ACCME model (S. Douville, Series Editor, Taylor & Francis). Track content has also been reviewed by AI research leaders at R1 research universities. Clinical content is subject to continuous clinical oversight from Dr. Art Douville and Dr. Apurv Gupta. Though this is not a CME-granting event, we align with ACCME principles in the goal of mitigating bias.

Codes of conduct

TTIC aligns with the IEEE Code of Ethics and the IEEE Code of Conduct and requests the same of all track participants and sponsors.

Independent and sponsored programming

Independent programming: editorial selection, applicable conflict-of-interest mitigation, no sponsor-purchased faculty positions, ACCME rules where applicable. ACCME requires accredited education to be separated from marketing and commercial influence; for companies ACCME considers ineligible, including pharmaceutical and medical-device manufacturers and certain other healthcare-product companies, owners and employees generally cannot serve as planners or faculty except under limited exceptions, and decisions about faculty selection, planning, delivery, and evaluation must be free from their influence.

Sponsored programming: sponsorship may include a speaking opportunity, clearly disclosed as sponsored, independently reviewed against conference standards, and separated from accredited education where required.

Concrete controls

A sponsor may nominate or supply the speaker where its package provides; track leadership retains the right to approve the individual, the topic, and the final content. Relevant financial and organizational relationships are disclosed. Claims must meet the track's evidence standard. Commercial claims and product promotion are identified appropriately. A sponsor cannot condition its funding on changes to independent sessions, other speakers, conclusions, or the overall agenda.

In plain terms

Yes, certain sponsorship levels include speaking opportunities. We disclose that. What sponsors purchase is the opportunity to participate, not the ability to determine what the conference concludes. Sponsored content is identified and reviewed, independent content remains independently governed, and accredited education is separated where required.
